I facing the same problem as yours. As for me I didn't went back to windows8, instead I only updated the Atheros Bluetooth driver from acer. Thanks for marking this as the answer. I was really frustrated with this error. Now my Bluetooth is functioning again.

This thread is locked. As for me I didn't went back to windows8, instead I only updated the Atheros Bluetooth driver from acer. Hello mate, I have the same laptop model, came with Win8 and had the same exact issue as soon as after win8.

I then went back to Windows 8 refreshed the laptop and then from windows 8, I installed acef latest Atheros Bluetooth driver from Acer website and also updated all the other device drivers.

Then I installed the Win 8. Just remembered one thing, if you have any antivirus program uninstall it and only then proceed.
